Despite innovations like these, most serious builders
like Brendan Powell Smith are fiercely loyal to Legos. Smith, a
wickedly clever artist who builds biblical scenes for his Brick
Testament picture books and Web site, insists that the road
to Bethlehem be paved with 100 percent Legos.
Besides just the quality of the bricks themselves
plastic quality and better molds make for stronger and better-fitting
bricks many of the clone brands have set designs that arent
as ingenious, says Smith.
Or (they) have parts too large and specialized to build much
besides the pictured model on the box, he adds. And
then of course, is the beloved Lego mini-figure which has no equal.
